What We Do

We Empower

We work directly toward the goal of integrating individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities into their community.

We Support

We offer support to a person with a disability within their home, as well as at work, school, church, and within many other communal settings.

We Advocate

We teach essential life skills and help communicate personal needs and goals, acting as an advocate on behalf of someone who needs help with self-expression and having a voice within their community.

We Care

We keep the people we support at the center of everything we do, ensuring their health and safety at all times, and working to ensure they have every chance to live to their fullest potential.

We Educate

We teach personal care, nutrition, domestic skills, money management and maintenance of adaptive and technological devices.

We Communicate

We actively participate at staff meetings by communicating observations concerning progress and reactions to new activities and networking with other staff for new ideas and approaches.

We Solve Problems

We assist individuals in evaluating choices and encourage and support problem-solving and coping skills

We Engage

We aid and teach individuals in developing awareness and use of community resources and in interacting with others

We Cook & Clean

We teach and assist in the maintenance, upkeep, housekeeping and cleanliness of the residence including keeping ramps and walkways free of debris and snow.

We Document

We prepare documentation/notes in a timely manner of each activity and submit for billing purposes.

We Drive

We transport and accompany individuals to community activities as well as other social, educational, vocational and recreational activities.

Our Working Hours & Locations

Cerebral Palsy of The North Country supervises residences in the communities of Canton, Massena, Potsdam, Hammond, Brasher Falls, Norwood, Morley, and Colton with 3-5 people living in each home.  DSPs work a flexible schedule including evening and weekends to ensure a variety of opportunities for individuals.
